I recently looked at the titles and date stamps of last year’s blogs.  Wow.  What a difference in emotion.  As as example, i was in the thick of taiko performances, practices, seeing friends, all in all what some call living the life.
Now, i sm surrounded by stuff.  I feel like i am the protagonist in paul simon song about al.  In other words, i am trying to find my voice.  The quote funny thing is i feel like glen miller trying out a new sound.  Both references deal with music.
So, what is on the horizontal line we call the point where the sun rises?  Perhaps an acknowledgement that the past is past and the present is just that…一日(1 day). What shall i do with it?  Do i just worry, hibernate like a bear or like a squirrel start preparing for the long winter?

About charleswinstead

having lived in japan for 3.5 years i wish to "go back to the island" as often as i can. i lived from 1999-2003. i went back in 2007, then again in 2011. i am a full time teacher, so the best time to go for me is during the summer vacation. it works out well because i love the sensational feelings i get in japan during the summer...especially playing taiko and eating lots of ma-cha ice.
