Kid’s corner

image

here i am at the site of the kid’s corner.  it will be here where the fun will be.

a)  tanabata story

b)  sumo and other kinds of origami, including the kabuto that was popular for the children’s day.

c)  kendama

d)  and of course, as pictured, we will have the water yo-yo.

it is a good thing that i had a friend of mine who was done early with his preparations.  i had to put up two tents and prepare this small pool.  i had an electric machine to blow up the pool and also had a hose drawn to behind these tents.  but, the tents, i had to have at least one other helper.  you see the orange ties?  they had to be lowered for the kids to see them.  set up time?  with helping my friend who helped me, it took all of 1 hour and 30 minutes.  just like the sheet said.  6:30-8pm.  punctual.  maybe i started early, and finished earlier, but the paper said 1.5 hours.  that’s what we gave it:)

About charleswinstead

having lived in japan for 3.5 years i wish to "go back to the island" as often as i can. i lived from 1999-2003. i went back in 2007, then again in 2011. i am a full time teacher, so the best time to go for me is during the summer vacation. it works out well because i love the sensational feelings i get in japan during the summer...especially playing taiko and eating lots of ma-cha ice.
