it may be cliche, but that is what makes it true

well, i am back in the states. and, you know what? i am not jet lagged, but i am lagging. i had a 7+ hour layover in tokyo. i could have climbed mount fuji in that time. i had only post-immigration about 15 minutes to get to the last lag (i mean leg:) of my trip in detroit. wow. wow.

while in tokyo’s narita i bought souvenirs for my family and also attempted to have a japanese conversation. it was fun trying one last time in japan. and the souvenirs are good ones;) i planned my rounds accordingly by buying books for my daughter and myself and not buying the rolling stone with lady gaga on the cover….by the way there was interview with an akb48 singer:) if you read my report, which i will posting soon (i passed the taiko class), you will understand why i wanted to buy the magazine.
anyway, instead of eating one last japanese meal i went with mcdonalds. good decision because i saw that a smile is still 0yen. but, i was so out of it, i forgot to loop around and buy for a 120yen the macha ice they had in the machine. oh, well.

i have attempted to see some folders i had on my sd card that i used in japan to take pictures and save my friends’ and family members’ contact information. so far, so good. so, if you are reading this, i hope to be contacting you state side, too. よろしくね。マイドハーピーやね。和。笑顔。

About charleswinstead

having lived in japan for 3.5 years i wish to "go back to the island" as often as i can. i lived from 1999-2003. i went back in 2007, then again in 2011. i am a full time teacher, so the best time to go for me is during the summer vacation. it works out well because i love the sensational feelings i get in japan during the summer...especially playing taiko and eating lots of ma-cha ice.
